The Arc Wayne is excited about the upcoming season opening of our Erie Shore Landing Ice Cream Shop that is an inclusive workplace with the individuals we support, right on the Erie Canal in the heart of the Village of Newark.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE ICE CREAM SHOP ASSOCIATE
In this role, you will assist in all the operational needs of the Ice Cream Shop to ensure the highest quality of offerings are produced daily, while providing an excellent level of customer service and a great experience for each one of our customers and visitors. You will also help build up our reputation as the ice cream shop of choice in town.
As an Associate, you will be responsible for greeting every customer quickly and in a friendly and welcoming manner. You will learn all menu items and manner of preparation to ensure that all orders are accurate and presented timely, and will need to perform cash register operations accurately and efficiently. Each associate will work closely with management to address all customers' concerns. All of our Associates will practice food safety according to Agency and Health Department regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
We prefer you to have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of proven restaurant experience; will consider relevant experience in lieu of education.
You must be able to work standing for the entire shift, have strong customer service skills and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Flexibility to work in both customer service and/or kitchen areas as needed.
Flexibility for work schedule throughout the week, including working until 10pm to close the Ice Cream Shop.
