To augment our dedicated full- time faculty, we seek highly qualified ADJUNCT INSTRUCTORS. Adjuncts typically teach one-to-two day or evening undergraduate or graduate courses each semester from among a variety of content areas in communication sciences and disorders in the fall, summer or spring semesters.

Content areas include:

  • typical and atypical speech

  • language, hearing, and swallowing

  • other communication challenges such as accent modification, gender-affirming voice, and the like.

Responsibilities include delivering advanced level instruction in the specific content area of the class, in accordance with program or College guidelines, availability to students for course consultation, communicating the educational goals and objectives of each course as set forth in the approved course description and syllabus, and meeting those goals and objectives during the semester.

To qualify as an ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR, Language Disorders in Children, the successful applicant must possess:

  • Master's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (or its equivalent).

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and professional experience in the specific content area that is appropriate for the class.

The College continuously recruits for applicants interested in Adjunct Faculty positions. Vacancies are determined on a semester by semester basis, and may or may not be available for the current academic semester. Compensation includes a competitive stipend, paid incrementally during the semester. After one semester of service, Adjuncts are eligible for a 50% tuition scholarship (waiver) for undergraduate and/or graduate courses on a maximum of six credit hours per semester (not to exceed the value of three credit hours). Tuition waiver can be used during the semester in which the Adjunct teaches or during the following semester. Additionally, use of the College Fitness Center, Campus Store discounts, business partners discounts and the eligibility to make pre-tax contributions to a Supplemental Retirement Account with TIAA.

Nor does this visa sponsorship policy apply to administrative, support, technical or other positions. Exceptions to the prior prohibitions may be made in circumstances where the College, in its discretion and on a case-by-case basis, decides to provide visa sponsorship for certain staff positions. The College retains the right to make decisions about visa sponsorship that support the College's business and academic needs, including providing visa sponsorship for only certain academic titles. Visa sponsorships are based solely on the needs of the College and at the sole discretion of the College.

The College of Saint Rose is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and secure environment for the entire college community and upon request, will provide its annual security report.
