The College of Saint Rose invites applications and nominations for an Assistant Professor of School Psychology in the Thelma P. Lally School of Education, beginning August 2023. This is a full time, tenure track position.
The Thelma P. Lally School of Education boasts thousands of alumni in educational and clinical settings throughout the world changing lives through expert teaching, therapy, counseling, and administration. The School Psychology program at The College of Saint Rose is accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists.
Responsibilities will include teaching 12 credits per semester of graduate courses in School Psychology from among the following courses:
SPY 505 : Social Emotional Assessment
SPY 510: Academic Interventions
SPY 525: Consultation
SPY 531: Advanced Child Development
SPY 590: Internship Seminar
Additionally, responsibilities include contributing to the continuing development and refinement of the School Psychology program, engaging in scholarship, attending internal and external events applicable to the College and the candidate's academic discipline, academic advising, program assessment, curriculum development, and participation in Department, School, and College committees. The Assistant Professor may be expected to teach graduate courses during the summer months.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D/Psy.D/Ed.D from an accredited institution in School Psychology, or a closely related academic field, at the time of appointment on August 15, 2023.
An ABD from an accredited institution in school psychology, or a closely related academic field, will be considered if the degree will be completed within 1 year from date of appointment.
Additional requirements include minimum of three years' experience in the field of school psychology. The experience can include time as a practicing school psychologist, teaching experience in school psychology, or a combination of both; a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, a record of scholarly work or professional impact in the field of school psychology, demonstrated experience working with a diverse student population, superior written and oral communication skills and, if selected to advance, a successful demonstration of teaching ability and scholarship during the on campus interview.
Eligibility to obtain NYS Professional certification in School Psychology is required within one year of appointment.
