Responsibilities
Summary:
The Energy Sustainability & Infrastructure (ES&I) Analytics team is seeking a Product Manager for our low carbon pathways model. The ideal candidate will have expertise in product management and energy systems, including economy-wide decarbonization analytics, cost-effectiveness, optimization, uncertainty and scenario analysis, roadmap development and strategic planning, and client-facing go-to-market and delivery. This position will be part of a team of data scientists and modelers supporting diverse client needs, and involve a variety of systems and tools, including, but not limited to, R, RStudio Connect, R shiny, Gurobi, Git, and Snowflake.
This position will be part of a team supporting the design, development and delivery of innovative advanced platform-based data and analytics capabilities and solutions to address a wide variety of energy client needs.
Responsibilities:
Oversee development roadmap
Manage low carbon pathways development team, including recruiting, staffing, and training
Engage with development team and client-facing internal partners to coordinate on pipeline, development team needs, new requirements, and roadmap prioritization
Assist in planning, development, and internal/external communication on the following:
ETL / Inputs
Documentation
Optimization Features
Code Performance
Outputs / Post-Processing
UI / UX
Modeling / Testing
Understand the technology stack (i.e., R, RStudio Connect, R Shiny, Git, Gurobi, Snowflake)
Lead or advise on technical elements of client delivery (e.g., technical workstreams, deliverables and stakeholder presentations, client requests) and go-to-market (e.g., demos, client proposals)
Provide strategic vision on the evolution of the product and integration opportunities with other Guidehouse solutions.

Qualifications
Required:
Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related fields or equivalent work experience
6+ years of experience working with energy systems models (e.g., decarbonization, low carbon pathways, capacity expansion, DER forecasting)
Experience with product development and DevOps or Agile frameworks
Experience with R or a foundation for quickly learning R (e.g., strong Python)
Familiarity with linear optimization
Ability to lead technical workstreams, including in an internal/external client-facing role, with a strong commitment to quality and standardization
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form with internal team members and internal/external clients
Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to creatively problem solve and rapidly learn new modeling platforms and concepts
Experience overseeing work of individuals
Experience and interest in leading team management, including staffing, recruiting, and training
Preferred:
Experience with cost-effectiveness, linear optimization, uncertainty and scenario analysis
Experience with source code version control technologies such as Git and Azure DevOps
Experience with RStudio Connect, R shiny, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, and GIS software
