We are looking for a team leader to grow our Automation & RPA (Robotic Process Automation) Services team that provides development capabilities to Guidehouse clients and the firm. Our central analytics Automation & RPA Services team designs, builds, delivers, and monitors software bots in production for both internal and client-facing processes. We manage an enterprise robotic processing automation (RPA) technology platform, where we have bots actively running based on predetermined schedules. In addition, for critical large data efforts, we deliver one-time bots to more efficiently and effectively manage data. Bots can be dedicated to a client, segment or project and can run 24x7 with zero errors and full audit tracking of tasks. We work with business owners and help to set firm standards for bot governance, development, testing, and release. Our growing team of 20 developers is certified on multiple RPA platforms and is closely integrated with other Advanced Solutions automation teams.

The Automation & RPA Services Team Leader will manage a team responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership to all aspects of product deployment including build, test, and deployment. In addition, this individual will support business leaders across all stages of client engagements from sales to business requirements to delivery and monitoring. This leader works with teams to deliver high quality, high value solutions to our clients in the healthcare, energy, and financial services industries.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a team of RPA business analysts, developers, and quality assurance staff including resource planning, training, and recruiting

  • Provide automation project oversight including project management, roadmap development, milestone tracking, release scheduling, status communication and delivery to clients

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to identify client needs and generate forward-thinking ideas

  • Serve as point of contact for business leaders/process owners that we support including translating business requirements to development team, supporting commercial business development proposals/presentations, and serving as subject matter expert (SME) at all stages of engagements

  • Manage enterprise level RPA platforms, licenses, and vendor partnerships and participate in vendor contract negotiations

  • Act as single point of contact to triage issues, answer technical questions, and resolve system challenges

  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement and automation to deliver high quality products

  • Collaborate to deliver high quality software products through geographically distributed teams in an agile environment across our consulting segments (e.g., energy, healthcare, financial services)

  • Promote automation efforts throughout Guidehouse and to external organizations

  • Communicate complex concepts, manage client expectations, and meet requirements under tight deadlines

  • Promote strong team culture



  • E. / B. Tech / M. Tech / MBA or other relevant degree

  • 7+ years of increasing responsibility in the software or data science fields

  • 2+ years of experience with enterprise level RPA platforms, methodologies, and development

  • Proven experience managing all elements of the development lifecycle including requirements gathering, business case development, implementation, and benefits realization tracking

  • Demonstrated experience working with a leading RPA vendor solution (e.g., Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Microsoft Power Platform or Blue Prism)

  • Experience with running and maintaining RPA Bots in production

  • Strong problem solving, analysis, and testing skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English language) to both management and external clients


  • Software development experience utilizing R, Python, .Net or other languages (e.g., VBA)

  • Experience with business analysis, system design, or change management

  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle and Agile development methodologies

  • Knowledge of Test-Driven Development, automated testing principles, and testing best practices

  • Non-IT experience in accounting, finance, or operations

  • Ability to automate manual interactions and a passion for enabling developers to write code that works

  • Experience leading projects or working with offshore colleagues, vendors, and team members

  • Mentoring team members and providing technical training

Additional Requirements

The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.

This position is open to candidates virtually from Montana, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona or Eastern, Pacific and Central time zones.
