Amazon Web Services Cloud Financial Management and Governance Technical Advisory Consultant in Albany, New York

At AWS, we’re searching for seasoned leaders to join the Professional Services (ProServe) Advisory practice. Leaders that are experts, who understand the industry as only a practitioner could. They have participated in cloud journey transformations, learned from their experience, and are eager to help customers transform.

We are seeking outcome driven and customer obsessed experts who are passionate about:

· Developing relationships with peers, stakeholders, internal teams, and/or customers, often becoming the “trusted advisor”

· Ability to lead sessions with both technical and finance team members and bridge the gap between both teams

· Ability to think out of the box, using your finance experience to create something new

· Uncovering gaps in existing financial governance processes and recommend governance framework solutions

· Ability to lead multiple developers on multiple engagements and to build a standard delivery process

· Experience with back-office Finance functions as well as ERP tools and integrations including R2R, P2P, and O2C Processes

· Driving innovative solutions to solve business problems and/or create new avenues for customers to grow

· Bachelors Degree in computer science or a related technology discipline

· 5 - 7 years of hands on experience with product development pertaining to back-office Finance functions as well as tools and integrations

· Knowledge of core financial processes including Record to Report (General Ledger), Financial Planning & Analysis, Procure to Pay, and Order to Cash Processes and ability to translate the process into a functioning tool/system

· Experience with development of new financial processes pertaining to cloud spend, Budgeting and Forecasting, automation of Journal entries, etc.

· Front-end development experience using react.js and API development

· Knowledge and experience working with GraphQL and Amplify framework (desirable knowledge in Athena-Express SDK)

· Experience working with AWS Athena and Amazon DynamoBD.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group leadership and executive director level presentations

· Limited (&lt25%) travel to customer locations as needed to sell and deliver professional services as needed


· Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance/MBA degree

· Familiarity with AWS Cost and Usage reports & Billing mechanisms

· Demonstrated working knowledge in the areas of IT governance, cloud computing, IT strategy

· External customer / client consulting engagement experience

· Experience with Cloud FinOps and FinTech
