Facebook is seeking a seasoned professional to join our Infrastructure Construction Management Team as a Construction Manager, Strategic Business Support on the Strategic Business Support Team. The candidate must be experienced in facilitating and project managing subject matter experts, developing organizational improvement initiatives that yield predictable, repeatable and efficient construction delivery models with the ability to develop key process metrics to gather and analyze data and identify process improvement effectiveness and opportunities. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our software operates with efficient ease. Building and operating data centers the "right" way from the day they go live is synonymous with ensuring capacity availability and capital conservatism. Architecting, constructing, operating and continually innovating the telecommunications and structured cabling infrastructure within our data centers is fundamental to ensuring high availability, the capacity to meet our extreme growth demands and obtaining the most robust and cost effective online service in the world! The expectations of the position will focus more towards the Mechanical, Electrical, and BMS scopes and will require the candidate to draw upon their experience in the construction of complex technical facilities.This position is full-time and located in our offices. However, working across time zones and occasional travel is required.
Analyze the inner workings of our internal teams in relation to their external touch points, identify and/or work with key stakeholders, develop and/or lead initiatives, create and implement embedment plans, and develop/measure key metrics to determine success.
Partnering with both our internal and external delivery teams, working to align vendor improvements with global capacity delivery priorities, to strategically extract more value and increase reliability from our supply chain.
Project manage program level initiatives from development to embedment, aligning with internal and cross functional stakeholders.
Facilitating and developing key performance indicators and dashboards, across all pillars, in alignment with ICM mission and initiatives and in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
Manage the development and use of a Project Charter to align the expectations of project stakeholders.
Utilize tools such as RACI charts and process flow charts to communicate clear ownership and responsibilities.
Develop key process metrics, gather and analyze data to identify and organize process improvement opportunities. Establish KPI’s and associated scorecards to monitor improvement.
Facilitating regular strategic planning follow ups for collaboration and accountability.
Monitoring the effectiveness of strategic planning, alignment, and optimization efforts. Champion and support course correction efforts when required.
Drive the consistent use of processes across teams and locations.
Facilitating and participating in the planning and development of strategies for large Strategic Events & Summits and Vendor Business Reviews.
Review programmatic data and surveys, identifying key strategic insights.
Coordinate key stakeholders to support a standardized review process and outcome.
Facilitate in person vendor reviews between ICM and critically strategic vendors.
25% travel to construction sites is required (domestic & international locations).
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Construction Management
7+ years experience in the construction industry
Experience with the various stages of a capital development program – design through construction
Basic knowledge of construction management processes and systems in the areas of scheduling, budgeting, quality control, safety, cost forecasting, change management and preconstruction
Experience with various scheduling methodologies – critical path, Gantt charts, resource planning
Experience providing alternate solutions or bringing new solutions from different industries
Organization, communication and presentation experience
Experience with MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Self-starter with high level direction to achieve goals
An engineering degree or certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or BMS Controls
Mission critical data center experience
