Director, Innovation Product Management – Medical Network Payer Solutions

Position Overview

Product management focused professional with a proven track record leading and growing new and innovative revenue streams, successful product launch activities, leadership in team building, and product delivery within tight deadlines. Proven ability in developing and enhancing partnerships among clients, business and technical personnel. Strong problem-solving capabilities, familiarity with heath care payer processes and demonstrated innovative thinking and strong communication skills.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Ability to envision and deliver focused market product strategies, set development priorities (road map), and work with development and external product partners to create and maintain product functionality, negotiate contracts and working with legal department to establish regulatory approaches

  • Act as product solution and strategy leader while using existing business knowledge experts to guide product strategy, delivery, and decision-making processes.

  • Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures

  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities as well as potential acquisition

  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples

  • Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information

  • Appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes

  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products

  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders

  • Must be able to manage the most complex solution line(s) that may include products across other business units.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with external clients up to the C-suite which may include making presentations to customers and at industry forums as a subject matter expert:

  • Coordination/collaboration across the business unit to drive holistic solution (services, support) with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

    What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 6+ years of product management experience (Healthcare Technology or Healthcare Data)

  • 5+ years of leadership experience to include 3+ years of P&L Management experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Highly prefer applicants with MBA

What critical skills are needed for you to consider someone for this position?

  • Leading new product development, launch, and support.

  • Product Market Analysis (experience with identifying customer needs, pain points, and requirements and translating that data into an effective product solution)

  • Experience presenting to large audiences (20 or more individuals to include Customers and Senior Level Executives)

  • Strong project management experience developing project plans and achieving project milestones (experience managing 2-3 complex projects on average at any given time with competing priorities and timelines)

  • Excellent business acumen, executive presence, and verbal and written communications skills

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • EDI transaction processing and clearinghouse operations

  • Experience with Healthcare Industry stakeholder, payers, and providers with Healthcare IT is preferred

  • Working knowledge of commercial health insurance plans, benefits design and performance measures is preferred

  • Ability to understand both technical details and policy nuances along with larger picture is a key tool for success

  • Working collaboratively with teams across multiple business units

  • Solid confidence and understanding of working with C-level executives and customers to draw insights and identify pain points

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Up to 20%
