Responsibilities

Our Risk Consulting team provides industry leading ERM services to clients in the government and commercial sectors. The team engages with senior leaders to define, design, and implement the full spectrum of ERM capabilities that generate value for decision-makers as they pursue their strategic objectives. The team also provides targeted services to our clients in the areas of Risk Strategy, Risk Governance, Risk Assessment, Risk Metrics and Reporting, establishing Risk Appetite, and selecting and using Risk Technology Platforms and Tools including analytics.

Our Risk consultants help clients understand and improve their approach to risk management and ultimately their risk profile. Our high-performing team advises clients on the overall management and performance of their business through the lens of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) including compliance, governance, and business resilience.

Professionals in Guidehouse may be subject to government security investigations and may be required to meet related eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Our ERM professionals are responsible for advising clients in designing, implementing and maturing their ERM programs. Our ERM professionals must have a thorough understanding of risk management principles and their application in the government and commercial sectors. They must have experience in designing, implementing, and evolving risk management programs aligned to recognized standards. Our ERM professionals should also have a working knowledge of change management principles and the use of analytics in risk management programs.

Desired Knowledge:

Demonstrated thorough knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the following key areas:

  • ERM frameworks and standards (e.g., COSO ERM, ISO 31000)

  • Risk governance and oversight

  • Risk appetite and tolerance

  • Risk identification and assessment methodologies

  • Risk analytics, metrics, and reporting

  • Culture and organizational change management

  • Risk tools and technology

  • Three Lines of Defense model

    Skills Preferred:

    Demonstrated skills in the following areas:

  • Working knowledge of applying one or more risk management standards (e.g., COSO, ISO, OMB Circular A-123, GAO Risk Assessment Framework).

  • Facilitating risk assessment and risk prioritization sessions.

  • Developing a risk appetite framework and acceptable variations in performance in alignment with strategy and performance objectives.

  • Effectively participating in client executive discussions and meetings.

  • Producing high-quality and client-ready deliverables and work products.

  • Writing proposals and statements of work.

  • Applying analytics in risk management.

  • Delivering high-quality, professional services to clients (including but not limited to: facilitating effective client meetings and workshops, delivering ERM training to clients.

  • Managing engagements including preparing concise, accurate project status documents and balancing project economics with the flexibility to respond to client needs.

  • Transparency in keeping management informed of progress, risks, and issues.

  • Management consulting background.

  • Proficiency with MS Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

    Qualifications:

    Candidates must have:

  • A bachelor's degree and approximately 7 years of relevant work experience with an emphasis on risk management supplemented with process improvement, system implementation, organizational management, or other related fields.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with any of the following: Visioning and Strategy Workshops, Project Management, Leadership Alignment and Development, Stakeholder Management, Communications, Operating Model and Organizational Design, Governance, Training, Competency Assessment, Talent Management, and Change Management.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance or above.

    Preferred Certifications or Other Professional Credentials:

  • RIMS-CRMP

  • RIMS-CRMS-FED

  • PMP

  • CMC

Additional Requirements

  • The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.

    Salary range for this role: $120,000 to $130,000
