Responsibilities

The general ledger accountant will be responsible for the financial close and reporting functions throughout Guidehouse Digital. The role will be responsible for executing the process as it relates to the preparation of journal entries and month-end financial close activities.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare month-end journal entries

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies and resolve

  • Prepare bank statement reconciliations

  • Take part and engage in staff training

  • Participate in special projects

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience

  • Experience working in the government contracting environment

  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting practices including US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization in a professional manner

  • Eastern Time Zone hours are a must

    Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and FAR/DFAR

  • Experience performing month-end reconciliation, including investigating balance sheet discrepancies and resolving issues

Additional Requirements

The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.

This position is open to candidates virtually from Montana, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, Hawaii or Eastern, Pacific, and Central time zones.
