As such the Technology Talent Consultant will drive and support EY Technology’s transformation agenda including business specific projects from a talent perspective for their relevant BU. They will build a strong internal (EY) network across Executive, GDS and Region Talent leadership and interact with other Talent functions / COEs (Talent Development, Recruiting, D&I, Total Reward, HR Enablement), other senior business stakeholders, as well as non-talent functions (e.g. Finance, BMC, Partner Matters).
This Technology Talent Consultant role within the Executive Talent Team (ETT) serves as a valued business partner and trusted advisor to the business and is considered an extension of the global Technology Business Unit leadership team, responsible for translating the business strategy into talent solutions, in order to enable the business to grow and support its future talent needs. This role will partner with the Lead Talent Consultant and functional leadership on talent priorities that align with the EY NextWave strategy.
Your key responsibilities
This role provides a Talent Consultant service to specific groups within EY Technology including:
Partner with EYT BU Leaders to co-create a talent strategy that is aligned to the EYT BU priorities.
In addition to the day to day operational talent activities, including performance management (LEAD) and consulting on performance issues, Talent Reviews, Leadership Reviews, Succession Planning, Year End activities including promotional and compensation activities and NextWave Career Framework.
Understand future workforce needs to influence and support workforce planning, including succession planning of key roles, reductions in force and cross function people moves necessary to keep pace with a business changing and transforming constantly to best meet its clients’ needs.
Supporting complex technology transformations, organization design and workforce planning.
Provide direction to and collaborate with regional talent teams to ensure that the BU talent strategy is delivered across all functions and geographies that EYT BU employees sit in
Advise the business on developing a culture within the function that underpins our values, promotes high-performance teaming and enables the delivery of exceptional client service
Determine, consult and support D&I initiatives from a BU perspective, and advise the business on cultivating an inclusive and flexible work environment that values diversity and is in line with the global priorities.
Advise the business on ways to accelerate the engagement of our people and partner with them and other Talent Consultants to implement supporting actions
Encourage business leadership to adopt LEAD practices and embed the new way of delivering careers, development and performance in the business.
Collaborate with Talent Development to support the management of their long-term talent pipeline (e.g. PPEDD promotions, leadership program nominations etc.)
Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role you must have
Strong experience in multiple Talent disciplines inclusive of performance management, career development and employee engagement
Solid advanced interpersonal skills to engage, senior leaders, in cross business discussions within a matrixed, geographically dispersed organization and to build a solid network of people of influence. Uses these relationships to manage expectations, challenge insightfully and influence thinking.
Has experience of working across different geographies for an international organization across a broad spectrum of people & cultures and has an appreciation of global mindset in a global environment.
Well defined consultative skills to conduct effective questioning, hone in on key issues to gather appropriate information, formulate & present ideas clearly and concisely to all levels of the organization. Proposes all options and suggestions based on a solid understanding of people principles, firm and business objectives and needs analysis.
Strong analytical & problem-solving ability to escalate & negotiate complex, conflicting issues, handle multiple shifting priorities across a broad spectrum of people & cultures & to drive both decisions & solutions that are commercially sound & aligned to objectives.
Ideally, you’ll also have
Advanced oral, presentation and written communication skills in the English language. Exhibits ability to adapt communication style to the style of others, developing rapport & staying calm under pressure.
Able to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the organization to support and sustain appropriate activities within an assigned deliverable.
Microsoft Office experience, predominantly Excel and PowerPoint.
Project and Time Management Skills.
