Guidehouse is seeking an Immigration Manager. This position is located on the Human Capital (HC) Shared Services Team and managing the immigration program for US and international employees. With limited direction, the person in this role develops, provides analysis, implements and administers our immigration program. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing critical immigration compliance subject matter expertise, give direction to business leaders to support the immigration needs of all businesses. A successful team member exercises extreme attention to detail, is thorough, accurate and organized while being flexible and productive in a growing fast-paced environment.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Act as primary liaison between immigration attorney and employees during the immigration process

  • Serves as the primary source of information regarding employee or management questions regarding the company’s immigration programs.

  • Prepare petitions and applications for submission to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Department of Labor (DOL) for non-immigrant status for foreign national employees (such as H-1B, TN, E-3, J-1) in partnership with immigration attorney.

  • Partners with the Legal Department to initiate contact with outside counsel and internal stakeholders to facilitate immigration status applications and employment authorization for employees and candidates.

  • Initiate required H-1B amendments, extensions, and transfer petitions.

  • Gather H-1B RFE responses documents.

  • Process all permanent residency applications, including labor certification, recruitment process, I-140 and I485 filings, in partnership with immigration attorney

  • Review initiation documents for eligible employees and coordinate with attorney to advertise Jobs, Compile recruiting report and other required task to file Perm Labors

  • File and Document LCA and prepare and maintain public access files & I-9 files as per USCIS compliance

  • File and maintain Immigration records and supporting documentation in a responsive and proactive manner to avoid any issues.

  • Exposure with Internal DOL Audits and I-9 Audits

  • Identify, recommend, and provide methods to resolve problems, update, simplify, enhance, and optimize existing processes, procedures, and policies for continuous improvements to the immigration program.

  • Monitor expiring work authorizations, process visa extensions in a timely fashion

  • Assist with global immigration/mobility, as needed, which may include maintaining relationships with foreign countries consulates and embassies and managing relationships with foreign labor staffing agencies

  • Partners with the global mobility to support Expat assignments and programs, local nationals, as well as manage immigration programs for inbound and outbound candidates.

  • Stay up to date on the most recent news and changes in policy introduced by the USCIS and DOL from time to time and will develop best practices to improve our level of service and efficiency.

  • Provides advice and consultations to internal stakeholders regarding the company’s immigration policies and practices.

  • Develops and maintains internal communications outlining the company’s immigration policies and procedures.

  • Have adequate skills and knowledge to help employees with immigration related issues, questions, prepare documentations for RFE response and helping documentations for stamping in US consulate locations

  • Manage and support HR initiatives and projects as directed by HR leadership



  • Minimum of 4 years of directly related experience in the immigration field and with processing of US work visas

  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • Prior management experience

  • Experience with a multi-location international organization

  • Must be customer focused and possess the following:

  • The ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of complex matters of diverse scope and nature

  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including senior management and senior external parties

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees, including senior managers and senior external parties

  • The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information

  • The ability to initiate, plan, and manage project

  • The ability to represent the company on external projects

  • Advanced computer and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential


  • Prior management experience

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word and Excel)

  • Experience with Workday as an HCM and ServiceNow HR Case Management

This position is open to candidates virtually from Montana, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, Hawaii or Eastern, Pacific, and Central time zones.
