Health Research, Inc. Internship - Hourly Intern II in Albany, New York
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates must be either an MPH or an MS Epidemiology student at SUNY Albany’s School of Public Health; AND must have completed at least 24 credits of coursework toward their degree including at least four of the core courses; AND must have maintained a GPA of 3.0 or better AND are unable to participate in an internship if on academic probation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic competency with SAS
- Experience with data visualization in the form of charts, tables, and graphs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills as this project is time-limited
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The hourly intern will assist with efforts to improve maternal outcomes and decrease maternal mortality and racial disparities as part of the Maternal Mortality Review Initiative. He/she will assist with an analytical project related to a specific area of interest related to maternal mortality as designed under the supervision of Maternal Mortality Review Initiative staff. Maternal mortality data has been collected; this project will involve sorting and analyzing available data and completing a data visualization deliverable; i.e., a fact sheet or Power Point summary of the findings.
DETAILS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The hourly intern may work up to 37.5 hours/week for up to a 12 - week duration. It is anticipated that this internship will take place during the summer of 2024 but must be completed by September 29, 2024, as the grant funding ends at this time. No travel is anticipated.
