Responsibilities

We are seeking a curious researcher excited about design thinking to join our team. We are looking for an individual who can apply human-centric design principles to design and evaluate clean energy and sustainability programs. You will lead projects end-to-end and facilitate design thinking workshops with diverse stakeholders. You can exercise a balance between getting creative and moving a project forward. You love to ask questions and question the status quo.

Reponsibilities include:

  • Lead research to learn from customers using techniques such as surveys and interviews

  • Synthesize research findings and uncover insights that will inform design and recommendations

  • Communicate findings in a meaningful and compelling way

  • Use the design thinking process to design and improve clean energy programs

  • Evaluate clean energy programs to assess what is working, what’s not working, and best ways for continuous improvement

  • Lead stakeholder workshops including developing agendas and activities

  • Manage projects and lead teams from planning, budget management, and reporting

  • Work directly with clients in a responsive and caring way

  • Provide timely feedback to team members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years professional working experience to exclude Internships,Co-ops, and Fellowships

  • Design thinking facilitation experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary research

  • Project management expertise

  • Ability to travel

  • No sponsorship available for this position

    Preferred Qualifications

    In addition to the above listed:

  • Master’s degree

  • Empathy for how users experience products and services

  • Mastery of qualitative research skills

  • Strong presentation skills with creative storytelling abilities

  • Stakeholder management

  • Industry experience in utilities, energy efficiency, sustainability, decarbonization or market research

  • Passion for leading teams

  • Exemplary client relationship skills

Additional Requirements

  • The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.

  • This salary range for this role is $80,700 USD to $121,200 USD depending on experience
