Hours: Mon. - Fri.: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Academic Year), 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Summers)

Duration: Permanent

Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a reachable score on the Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding) list; or

  • Have a current permanent appointment with 1 year of service as a Office Assistant 2 (or as a title eligible for transfer to Office Assistant 2 ); or

  • Appointment as Office Assistant 2 here at UAlbany with less than 1 year of service (remainder of probationary period to be completed in new assignment); or

  • Be a former state employee eligible for reinstatement to the title of Office Assistant 2

Provisional Pending Exam:

Candidates must be a qualified employee of New York State and have ONE YEAR of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as:

Either A. as a Data Entry Machine Operator, Data Entry Machine Operator (Spanish Language), Keyboard Specialist 1, Keyboard Specialist 1 (Chinese Language), Keyboard Specialist 1 (Spanish Language), Law Department Document Specialist Trainee 1 or Trainee 2, Office Assistant 1-Keyboarding, Office Assistant 1-Keyboarding (Chinese Language) or Office Assistant 1-Keyboarding (Spanish Language).

Or B. in an office assistant or clerical title allocated to Grade 5 or higher.

Candidates must be eligible to take and pass the next available Office Assistant 2 Keyboarding exam and obtain a reachable score for permanent appointment

May be filled from a mandatory reemployment list if one is in effect at the time of appointment.
