Responsibilities

Guidehouse has a dedicated Financial Services segment that serves both commercial and public sector clients. We provide advisory services to more than 200 leading global financial service companies and we work extensively with guarantors, regulators, originators, secondary market aggregators, warehouse lenders, servicers, government sponsored enterprises, and investors. Guidehouse’s Public Sector Financial Services is seeking a Data Analytics - Consultant to join our team. This position requires the candidate to perform research and analysis, critical thinking and support end-to-end project delivery. The candidate will work on a team of experienced staff to provide consulting services to government agencies that require strategic alignment. As a Consultant on the team, you will work closely with senior staff to support task orders, presentation materials, and draft discussion papers. Work products are expected to be high-quality. Consultants also support sales initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Support finance projects by assisting clients in making important business decisions by maintaining and enhancing various financial/economic models, performing risk analytics and modeling research

  • Tasks may include meeting with stakeholders, documenting processes, performing research and analysis, and presenting analysis updates to team and/or client.

  • Detailed oriented, and develops high-quality work products

  • Convey ideas clearly in an oral and written manner, both one-on-one and in small groups

  • Collaborate across multiple work streams to leverage work and supporting evidence

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, business/data analytics, or relevant field

  • 1+ years’ experience in a relevant field

  • 1+ years’ programming experience using SAS

  • 1+ years’ experience in data analytics

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

    Preferred:

  • Finance and/or economics experience, in the application of statistical methods with a large amount of economic and loan performance data

  • Consulting/client service experience

  • Knowledge of federal government environment

  • Other programming experience using STATA, R, Python or MATLAB

  • Master’s degree in statistics, business/data analytics, or relevant field

Additional Requirements

  • The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.

  • Due to our contractual requirements, to be eligible for this role, you must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated at time of hire

  • This role is available virtually from PST, CST or EST time zones. Strong preference will be given to candidates local to Washington, DC
