Responsibilities

Guidehouse is seeking a Financial Statement Compilation - Sr. Consultant with experience supporting government agencies . In this role,the successful candidate will d emonstrate proven knowledge and success in advising federal clients in financial reporting and meeting the requirements of related federal guidance, including: OMB Circular A-136, the GAO Green Book, the Chief Financial Officers Act of 1990, Federal Managers’ Financial Integrity Act of 1982 (FMFIA), Treasury Financial Manual (TFM)/US Standard General Ledger (USSGL), and GAO/PCIE Financial Audit Manual. Some of these activities include but are not limited to:

  • Ability and experience in drafting pro-forma and final quarterly and annual financial statements including footnotes. Including the Balance Sheet, Statement of Net Cost, Statement of Net Position, and Statement of Budgetary Resources.

  • Ability to crosswalk information between financial statements and MD&A to the footnotes to support and evidence all numbers and statements for audit evidence.

  • Understand the construct and design of federal financial statements.

  • Ability to interpret and implement requirements from OMB A-136.

  • Demonstrate GAAP accounting expertise and knowledge and understanding of Federal financial accounting standards and the USSGL.

  • Proven ability to implement innovative solutions to meet changing organizational needs, ability to bring creativity and collaboration to the process of working with financial systems.

  • Ability to think critically and advise client on options, next steps, best practices, and pros and cons to address situations as they arise.

  • Attention to detail and maintaining accuracy in all supporting documents and financial statement compilation.

  • Willingness to become a leader in business development activities and internal firm objectives.

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of success in identifying and addressing client needs, building solid relationships with clients; developing an awareness of Firm services; and communicating with the client in an organized and knowledgeable manner.

  • Demonstrate an excellent ability to lead projects and proven abilities to work successfully as a team leader: managing personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; able to provide guidance, clarification, and feedback to less-experienced team members; shows ability to manage multiple concurrent work streams.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • United States Citizen.

  • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience related to federal financial reporting.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.

    Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting.

  • CPA, CGFM.

Additional Requirements

  • The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.

  • Due to our contractual requirements, to be eligible for this role, you must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated at time of hire.

  • Due to our contractual requirements, US Citizenship is required for this position.

  • This role is available virtually from PST, CST or EST time zones. A strong preference will be given to candidates local to Washington, DC.
