Senior Business Analyst with Tax or Finance background

Client Technology (CT) - focuses on developing new technology services for our clients. It enables EY to identify new technology-based opportunities faster and pursue those opportunities more rapidly.
Enterprise Technology (ET) – ET supports our Core Business Services functions and will deliver fit-for-purpose technology infrastructure at the most affordable possible cost for quality services. ET will also support our internal technology needs by focusing on a better user experience.
Information Security (Info Sec) - Info Sec prevents, detects, responds and mitigates cyber-risk, protecting EY and client data, and our information management systems.
As part of Global Tax Platform (GTP) team you will be part of a client technology organization that develops and maintains innovative solutions for our client-serving Tax professionals.
The purpose of the role, and the combined contributions of the roles of this team, is to serve the aggregate technology needs of a Tax Service Line and its products including building relationships with assigned practice areas and the various product sponsors within them, technical tax professionals, internal technology professionals, external clients and third-party software vendors.
We are looking for an experienced, passionate, results-oriented business analyst who is a great problem solver with deep and proven experience in delivering innovative solutions.
Your key responsibilities
As a senior business data analyst you will be responsible for:
Elicitation, analysis and documentation of business, stakeholder, solution and transition requirements driving data models for the assigned business areas/portfolios
Responsible for leveraging appropriate techniques such as data flow diagrams, data mining and data modelling techniques to gather, analyse, and report Tax and Finance data requirements as a member of a data modelling delivery team
Work closely with product owners and other subject matter experts to understand business and technology strategies affecting and affected by their Tax and Finance data.
Plan and actively manage the BA requirements management strategy; communicating, driving and managing the business analysis effort for each project in the Program throughout all phases of project lifecycle
Actively manage requirements traceability for impact and coverage analysis throughout the program
Provide guidance and oversight on effective utilization of Business Analysis techniques in compliance with organizational standards
Development of clear, concise, and consumable functional and non-functional requirements during all phases of the software development lifecycle
Work with the Business Analysis Community of Practice to ensure consistent application of the business analysis standards and advise on exceptions
To qualify for the role you must have
Authoritative experience gathering and interpreting business requirements
Experienced developing technical requirements and specifications, including knowledge of software engineering methodologies, reporting tools, modelling and testing
Professional understanding of Lean Six Sigma and Business Process Modelling and Notation
Well-versed with least one of the industry leading Finance systems such as SAP R3, SAP HANA, SAP BPC, Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft, Hyperion Consolidations, Hyperion Planning, Anaplan to gather/elicit, and conduct business requirements workshops
Proficient knowledge of at least one of the industry leading Business intelligence such as Power BI, SAP Analytics (eg HANA, BW, BusinessObjects), Oracle BI to develop requirements/ product design for the delivery team
Knowledge of Tax Systems such as OneSource Tax Provision, OneSource Income Tax, CorpTax
Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change based on client needs
Ability to build relationships and network at all levels.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and negotiation skills

Qualifications / Technical Skills:
A bachelor's degree (computer science, engineering, accounting, finance preferred) or equivalent work experience.
Master's degree preferred
5-9 years of relevant experience
Expert on industry-standard, structured business analysis techniques (i.e., user story creation, UML/logical modelling, data modelling, etc.)
Knowledge of Agile, SCRUM and/or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is highly preferred
TAX or Finance domain knowledge with a strong understanding of databases and data analysis.
Ideally, you’ll also have
Master's degree in Information Technology/Computer science
IIBA CBAP or CBATL certification for business analyst
Data Analytics degree or certification
