As a seasoned infrastructure leader, you’ll be responsible for understanding and evolving our platform and system architecture standards to ensure we can effectively monitor, manage and scale our cloud services. In this capacity, you will be responsible for our platform infrastructure and SRE team. As such, you will also be responsible for the day to day evolution and operation of the cloud based compute, devX, deployment required to change the cost curve of advertising. You’ll work with other stakeholders to ensure the platform delivers capabilities needed to build applications our customers want. Your stakeholders include not only a diverse set of service and application teams, but also our data analytics and infrastructure teams. Reliability, security and privacy is important to Oracle Advertising and its customers, so you’ll work with stakeholders to adopt meaningful SLIs, SLOs, and define meaningful and reasonable error budgets.

As a member of the technology management team, you will be responsible for and contribute to a number of aspects of our technology and platform strategy. You will be expected to not only be a domain expert within platform and infrastructure, but also contribute technical expertise to our service and application teams.


  • Drive collaboration across engineering teams and define our overall platform strategy and processes to ensure we can effectively monitor, manage and scale our services.

  • Build and manage a diverse and effective DevX and deployment teams to support our technical objectives. This includes cloud and platform infrastructure.

  • Engage with other leaders across the company to coordinate broad change management in a timely and orderly manner.

  • Work with service/application teams to implement the baseline technologies, policies and practices to build a high velocity, high availability, and high security platform.

  • Plan and execute on multi year roadmaps across multiple teams and departments.

  • Align multi year roadmaps to business objectives.

  • Deliver and manage the platform and infrastructure needed by our service, application, and analytics teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years platform and/or software architecture experience

  • 2+ years of experience managing platform and reliability focused software engineering teams in a distributed organization.

  • Experience in defining the strategy and managing integrated business systems roadmap.

  • Experience leading transformational, high-impact business systems initiatives.

  • Proven ability to build a strong and diverse engineering culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of cloud services and how to leverage those in order to deliver capabilities on our service.

  • Experience working with cross-functional internal teams and external vendors to build or integrate new IT service areas.

  • Demonstrated organizational, communication, leadership, and customer service skills.

  • A proven track record for taking complex requirements from multiple passionate stakeholders and translating them into systems designs, architectures, and roadmaps.

  • Familiarity with a wide range of infrastructure technologies, such as those used in container orchestration, data orchestration, business middleware, security, and governance.

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision future improvements to the architecture.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Colorado Pay Range: from $120,000 to $272,000 per annum; eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
