This position is in PCG’s Human Services practice area on the Aging & Disability Services (A&D) team. The A&D team works with states and providers to design, develop, refine, evaluate, and manage programs that support older adults and people with disabilities. Our mission is to help our clients improve the lives of the people they serve. The A&D team is seeking to add a team-oriented communications professional that will help advise our clients on how to more effectively communicate with their audiences.

We are seeking a Sr. Communications Manager that will serve as an expert in client engagements – managing the communications process from inception through implementation. This may include visioning, strategy development, message development, and oversight of collateral creation. The Sr. Communications Manager will work with Subject Matter Experts and other consulting staff to deliver a variety of projects to clients – from short-term, targeted strategy efforts to large-scale systems transformation projects in the Health and Human Services sector. This position requires creative thinking as well as a keen technical eye and excellent communications skills. The ideal candidate will also be a strong-relationship builder that can contribute to business development efforts as the A&D team grows. Experience with government agencies and/or human services organizations is preferred but not essential.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on communications strategies and best practices

  • Build and execute communications plans and marketing plans

  • Craft stakeholder messaging strategies and collateral

  • Develop client branding strategies

  • Build relationships with client management and communications staff

  • Advise project teams on how to approach unique communications challenges

  • Oversee staff work on communications and marketing efforts

  • Write responses to client RFPs related to communications, stakeholder engagement, and marketing

  • Produce sales and marketing collateral related to field of expertise

  • Assist with efforts to produce web content, articles, conference materials, and presentations



  • Ability to consult and advise clients to achieve the best business outcomes

  • Expertise in communications methodologies, tools and practices

  • Ability to communicate expertly to internal and external customers

  • Independently able to quickly come up to speed on project assignments

  • Creative problem-solving ability and a strong consultancy mindset

  • Excellent business writing skills and ability to lead presentations to various audiences

  • Experience supervising staff (preferred)


  • Bachelor’s degree

  • A minimum of 5-10 years relevant experience

  • Knowledge or experience with health and human services organizations and/or government agencies (preferred)
