Alfred. Director, Center for Advising. Alfred University. FT. Benefits. The Director of the Center for Advising oversees fiscal and budgetary matters, and prepares annual reports. They will provide leadership to the Center for Advising team which includes the Academic Success Coaches, International Student Counselor and Military & Academic Coach. They will also coordinates the engagement activities with first year and transfer students from deposit to enrollment and through the first year. Responsibilities: Prepares the complete budgets of department and authorizes and administers all expenditures made by the department. Coordinates the interaction of the staff with other units of the University. Responsible for maintaining accurate records on the department and preparing status and statistical reports. Responsible for establishing and maintaining records and research on student performance and programing effectiveness. Conducts regular evaluation of students academic progress in consultation with faculty. Chairs the Orientation Team and takes the lead on the planning, communication and execution of the summer and August orientation sessions. Participates and collaborates with various Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, University Advancement and Business Affairs staff to develop, plan, implement and assess programming that supports students in their academic and personal growth. Requirements: Formal Education: Master's required in Counseling, Education, or appropriate field. Experience: A minimum of three years experience in post-secondary education administration and adequate experience in program planning, budget formulation, and management. Experience in counseling, curriculum development, college admissions, or student financial aid is highly desirable. Additional Knowledge/Skills: Understanding of current retention trends with emphasis on first year and first-generation students. Apply Online:
