Alfred University Pre-College Programs Coordinator in Alfred, New York
The Pre-College Programs Coordinator leads campus efforts to develop and deliver high quality summer programs and yearly programs for high school students and other various groups. In collaboration with faculty, and other partners, the coordinator will ensure effective operation of all aspects of programs including academic programs. This position is a 35 hours/week, at an hourly rate of $26.37-$28.02, depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
Works with academic deans to coordinate high school institute offerings, summer courses, dual enrollment offerings, and other potential academic offerings throughout the year.
Work closely with Marketing & Communications to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy.
Works with the Registrar's Office, Student Accounts, & Residence Life and other offices across campus with all logistics related to registration, scheduling, & facilities.
Develops positive and effective relationships with the colleges & schools, residence life, dining, registrar's office, student accounts and other areas across campus to ensure optimal experience for all program participants.
Keep informed of the latest trends and best practices in pre- collegiate programming and adjust programming to ensure high quality and competitiveness.
Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating overall requirements and effectiveness of programs and recommend necessary changes.
Develop & maintain close connections with high school administrators and counselors to meet enrollment goals.
Participate in training workshops, staff retreats, and professional conferences.
Evening/weekend work and overnight travel is required.
Maintains a safe working environment within and around their facilities and associated equipment and supplies including, but not limited to, obtaining Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information pertaining to any hazards associated with their work environment.
Requirements:
Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree a plus.
Experience: The successful candidate will have at least three years of relevant professional work experience.
Additional Knowledge/Skills: A valid automobile driver's license is required with ability to travel independently. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and feel comfortable/confident speaking in large/small groups and with people from diverse backgrounds. Candidates must be goal oriented, able to work independently with limited supervision, able to work in a team setting, and able to understand and use technology (e.g., Microsoft Office, social media and email). Flexibility to work on weekends, evenings, and overnight stays is required.
