Job Title: Driver

Job Description

Join our dynamic distribution team and take on the vital role of Driver, where you will operate a 26ft rear-loading box truck, handling and delivering pre-palletized beer orders to various locations including bars, breweries, and restaurants. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks using hand jacks and manual pallet jacks, picking and pulling orders for specific routes, and delivering products that may involve navigating to basements. Additionally, you will print receipts for customers on-site, accept empty keg returns, and hand wrap pallets of products. This role requires managing different sized kegs and cases of beer, controlling up to 165 lbs of product. Your typical workday will also involve operating forklifts to load/unload pallets and maintaining accurate inventory throughout the month.

Hard Skills

• 1 year minimum of driving experience with box trucks or vans

• Forklift certification

• Experience with manual sheets for picking

• Skills in loading/unloading and hand wrapping pallets

• Palletizing expertise

Soft Skills

• Prior leadership responsibilities

• Ability to control heavy weights (up to 165 lbs)

• Reliable and punctual with transportation as the location is not on a bus line

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 550 Hour(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in ALTAMONT, New York.

Work Environment

Our company is a passionate distributor of craft beer and cider, operating out of a 50,000 sq ft warehouse that is not temperature-controlled, varying with the seasons. You will be part of a collaborative team of 3-4 people per shift, reporting to the 2nd Shift Lead. Your work schedule includes a 4-day work week, 10-hour shifts, starting between 6am-8am and no weekend work unless holidays affect regular hours. Steel-toed or composite toe shoes are required for safety.
