5 Fulltime H2A Seasonal Jobs Available 3/15/21-11/30/21. Workers will plant cultivate, harvest, and pack employers crops of corn, vegetables, and hemp. Hemp: Worker will harvest the hemp stalks by hand with a sharp object. Stalks will be gathered and placed on a platform and or placed in a cube in the field. Workers will remove the plant from the platform and or cube to process and grade the hemp stalks, by removing the blooms and other plant material placing them into the appropriate cubes according to the supervisors instructions. Greenhouse Work: Work with seeding plants in trays, stacking trays, covering stacks and moving stacks to hot room for seed germination. This includes preparing rays for seeding, moving the stacks after germination to greenhouses. Farm Equipment Operation: Worker may operate tractors, forklift, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery for land preparation, maintenance and cultivation, including to plow, harrow and fertilize soil and plants, and to plant, cultivate, and spray. Worker may operate equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors and implements. Worker may manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Worker may attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, and harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Worker may load containers and products using forklifts. Worker may operate grading and digging equipment. Worker may perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting repair on equipment. Corn & Vegetables: Workers will plant, cultivate and harvest vegetables. Worker will be required to remove weeds by hand or with a hoe. Workers will bend and stoop to pick vegetables according to size, color, shape and degree of maturity and place into field containers. Workers will carry full container weighing approximately fifty (50) lbs. and empty into field bin or load onto trailer. Will be required to pull and discard culls as directed by supervisor. Pickers will take care not to bruise or scar produce. Pre-harvest activities may include staking, tying, transplanting and pruning. Workers will stand on feet for long periods of time. Workers are required to work in fields when plants are wet with dew or rain. Temperatures in fields during working hours can range from thirty (30) to over one hundred (100) degrees. Farm Vehicles: Only properly licensed workers will be allowed to operate farm vehicles. Workers operating farm vehicles must follow all traffic laws. Any worker who operates a farm vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be immediately terminated. Requirements: * At least 3 months verifiable experience hand harvesting produce on a commercial farm. * Workers are subject to random drug testing post hire at no cost to the employee post hire. * Exposure to extreme temperatures, extensive sitting/walking, extensive pushing/pulling, frequent stooping/bending, repetitive movements. * Lifting requirement of 75 lbs.
