Acara Solutions Pump Assembler in Amherst, New York
Acara Solutions is hiring a Pump Assembler for our customer, a growing distribution company located in Amherst, NY. This Full Time Direct Hire opportunity, with a very attractive benefits package, requires an exceptional work ethic and strong mechanical aptitude. You will perform Bench Assembly (80%) from our warehouse that will also require Distribution responsibilities (20%). This is a physical, fast-paced position that involves continual lifting, lowering and sliding packages. This position will assemble various pumps of some complexity for shipment or performance testing. In addition, this position will work around and with electrical leads, electric motors and wiring.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
Assemble various pumps of some complexity designed for heating and cooling, potable water, and other fluid transfer applications.
Read and interpret formal orders and bills of materials.
Work from assembly drawings and layouts.
Use hand power tools to do miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Fabricate wooden crates and skids for pumps and components.
Mark crates per the order instructions.
Check orders for completeness.
Provide weights and dimensions to the export coordinator.
Paint pumps using standard and special paints.
Support and comply with all safety and 5S requirements related to the position.
Perform other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as assigned
Work in standing position 8 hours/shift
Considerable arm movement and walking required; bending and stooping
Work requires close attention to lifting and handling of medium weight parts up to 35 lbs. Heavy parts raised to position with chain hoist
Average shop conditions with some temperature variations due to seasons
Subjected to noisy environment requires wearing of ear plugs.
Work around and with electrical leads, electric motors & wiring
Standard PPE required: safety glasses, ear plugs, safety shoes with toe and metatarsal guards, gloves and work uniform
First Shift, DIRECT HIRE role. $16/hr+ DOE.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
At least one year of related Assembly experience utilizing drawings, use scale, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
At least one year of high volume, fast-paced warehouse or related work
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge of Windows Office programs
Strong organization/time management skills
Ability to maintain collaborative, team relationship with peers
Use shop arithmetic
Quality testing experience
Material Handling utilizing fork lifts and cranes preferred
