St. Mary's Healthcare Behavioral Health Counselor in Amsterdam, New York
Job Requisition: REQ2854 Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Days Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Hiring range: $20.20- $26.26 The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
Responsibilities:
· Experience facilitating adolescent groups and/or counseling adolescents
· Extensive knowledge of ethics, confidentiality and child welfare is required.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google and familiar with electronic health records
· Willingness to learn and follow Agency’s standards of practice
· Ability to successfully pass the Medicaid exclusion screening and background check
· Demonstrable ability to connect with and provide support to a diverse client population
· Knowledge of local community based services, systems and supports available to children and families.
· Must have valid NYS driver’s license with clean driving record
· Minimal travel required within the assigned school district and for educational development when necessary. travel between schools within the Greater Amsterdam School District as well as our clinic in Amsterdam.
This position runs concurrent with the academic year. Ten months in the schools/community and summer months in the clinic/community.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Human Services as deemed appropriate by the Program Manager
· One year experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
