POSITION: TASTE CURATOR.

DESCRIPTION: AURORA COOKS IS LOOKING FOR A CHEF THAT POSSESS A DYNAMIC PERSONALITY AND ENJOYS INTERACTING WITH THEIR GUESTS WHILE PREPARING, A ONE-OF-A-KIND MEAL LIVE. AURORA COOKS IS AN INTERACTIVE STUDIO KITCHEN WITH A LIVE STREAM CAMERA AND A MODERN CONCEPT OPEN KITCHEN WHERE GUESTS CAN TALK WITH A PROFESSIONAL CHEF AND GAIN INSIGHT INTO WHAT IT TAKES TO COOK BEAUTIFUL MEALS WITH EASE.

POSITION PURPOSE:

• Under the direction of Chef Lou Ruscitto-Donato and Executive Chef Eric Lamphere, the Taste Curator is responsible for providing a quality 3 course meal for transient and non-transient guests. These meals will be paired with wines from the finger lakes region.

• Dining experiences run for 2 and ½ hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS:

• Prep food for service each day.

• Operate all basic kitchen equipment with efficiency.

• Fabricate meat, fowl, and fish.

• Ensure compliance of all health code standards and safety requirements.

• Check quality, presentation, and expiration of all foods.

• Work in a team-oriented fashion in accordance with other staff members.

• Ensure all supplies are clean and placed back into proper storage areas after use.

• Clean stations, dispose of garbage, clean cooking surfaces, etc. during and after shifts.

• Sweep and Mop workstations at close of shift, as needed.

• Assist with special events, as required.

• Attend all mandatory training and meetings

• Other duties, as assigned.

• Adhere to all Inns of Aurora disciplinary policies and code of conduct, as outlined in the Inns of Aurora handbook.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-3 years high quality food service experience

• The ability to work independently is a must.

• Highly developed sense of aesthetic and creativity.

• Ability to multi-task effectively under fast-paced working conditions.

• Ability to maintain a neat, professional, and clean appearance and practices.

• Flexibility with hourly schedules, including weekend, holiday, and evening availability.

PREFERENCES:

• Knowledge of seasonal menu development.

• Knowledge and understanding of the Finger Lakes region as pertaining to agriculture, wine, spirits.
