Inns of Aurora Housekeeper in Aurora, New York

Position Purpose:

  • The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring quality cleaning procedures are practiced throughout the Inns of Aurora properties.


  • Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed on an ongoing basis

  • Clean and prepare rooms and balconies for guests

  • Clean public areas in each property including banquet room, guest reception area, hallways, elevators and public restrooms

  • Sweep and mop verandas, porches, and public areas as well as sweep sidewalks and maintain front of buildings of all properties

  • Maintain outdoor lake fronts, docks, beach areas, tent areas etc. during event season

  • Inspect guest rooms to ensure no property or furniture is damaged

  • Take dirty linens from rooms to designated receptacle

  • Ensure proper administration of key control for issued keys and keys left by guests in rooms

  • Bring all lost and found items to the housekeeping manager for logging and storage

  • Notify General Manager immediately for any out of ordinary situations in guest rooms

  • Communicate any maintenance needs to the supervisor

  • Accommodate guest special requests

  • Ensure confidentiality and security of guest room

  • Keep linen closet and supply areas organized and tidy

  • Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the Inns of Aurora, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook

  • Other duties, as assigned



  • Ability to maintain neat, professional and clean appearance and practices

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and general computer literacy

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Refined time management skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

  • Ability to work independently


  • Previous housekeeping experience

  • Pride in quality and quantity of work

  • Knowledge of OSHA, cleaning products, standard housekeeping procedures and standards


The hourly rate for this position is $13.00-$14.00 which can vary with experience
