Job Description: Parking AttendantPosition Overview:The City of Saratoga Springs Department of Public Works is seeking qualified individuals to serve as Parking Attendants for a seasonal parking program operating annually from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Parking Attendants will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of City-owned garages and surface lots by providing parking services twenty-four hours per day throughout the duration of the program.Responsibilities:Monitor activity within all parking garages and surface lots to ensure compliance with parking regulations and safety protocols.Assist the public with parking-related questions or concerns, providing courteous and helpful customer service at all times.Check pay stations regularly to ensure functionality and troubleshoot any issues as required, including resolving payment discrepancies and assisting patrons with payment methods.Conduct regular patrols of parking facilities to identify and address any safety hazards, unauthorized vehicles, or suspicious activity.Prepare and submit daily reports to the Department of Public Works (DPW) detailing activities within the parking facilities, including incidents, maintenance needs, and other relevant information.Maintain cleanliness and organization within parking facilities, including removing debris, clearing snow, and reporting any maintenance issues to DPW.Adhere to all relevant regulations and policies governing parking operations and security procedures, including enforcing parking rules and regulations as necessary.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in customer service or security-related roles preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.Hourly Rate:The hourly rate for this position is $20.
