Teacher 2: New York State provisional/initial/conditional initial certification in Special Education; Teacher 3: New York State permanent/professional certification in Special Education; Teacher 4: New York State permanent/professional certification in Special Education and two years of post-certification (conditional initial/provisional/initial or permanent/professional) teaching experience in the same specialty. ## Duties Description Duties Descriptions: Teachers 2, 3, and 4, under general supervision and with considerable independence of judgment and action, teach elementary, secondary, or special subjects. The duties include preparing course and unit outlines, lesson plans, educational progress reports, individual education plans, and acting as advisor to student groups and organizations. Requirements for Continued Employment: Possession of a permanent/professional or provisional/ initial/conditional initial New York State certificate in the appropriate specialty is necessary for continued employment.
