In this position, you will assist the Facilities Manager in maintenance work and projects at all ACLD locations. This position requires general knowledge of all trades (carpentry, plumbing, electric and HVAC). Must be a self-starter and have working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and smart phones for the electronic work orders system.
Complete all assigned work and projects using building trade skills in a timely manner.
Complete all schedules as listed in maintenance manual and any additional items required for program and/or building certifications.
Complete seasonal preventative maintenance projects such as power washing, furniture moving, landscaping and snow removal and assist other maintenance workers, as assigned.
Complete all assigned paperwork in a professional and timely manner including report of completed work.
High School diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of three (3) years field experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and other related building trades, preferred.
The ability to work at various heights while using extension ladders to access roofs, lighting and other various items that require the use of ladders.
Ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
Valid NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Verbal and written communication skills including the ability to provide or obtain information, to interpret and advise to clarify understanding.
Candidate should possess strong reasoning skills and must have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
This is a full-time position (Monday – Friday 8am – 3:30pm) requires travel to locations throughout Nassau and Suffolk using Agency vans. It is eligible for medical/dental and has a generous paid-time off package.
