Overview SUMMER 2024 NURSE EXTERN PROGRAM - St. Joseph Hospital We are excited to be offering our Summer 2024 Nurse Externship Program. Our program will give nursing students the opportunity to work hands-on in the hospital with members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. You will work side by side with registered nurses who will serve as mentors. They will guide you in developing your clinical & critical thinking skills as you build your confidence as a nursing professional. Our Nursing Education team will provide you with support and facilitate a robust learning experience. You will join our St. Joseph Hospital Nursing team in the delivery of compassionate patient care. Job Details Please see below for details on our Summer 2024 Programs: Nurse Externs: will train and work on a full-time or per diem basis throughout the summer as Nursing Assistants. As a valuable member of the patient care team, they will promote a positive patient experience by providing appropriate patient care to their assigned patients. They will work closely with the interdisciplinary team – ensuring they keep them informed of any patient needs they cannot perform or any changes in status they observe. They will document in the EMR system and perform other tasks as assigned. Requirements: Must be a 3rd or 4th year nursing student in a BSN program with the completion of Nursing Fundamentals Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association. *Please upload a cover letter that is 400 words or less that describes why you went into nursing, what you see yourself doing post-education, and why you are interested in this program. Salary Range USD $22.93 - USD $22.93 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
