Binghamton University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Admissions Visit Coordinator working as a key member of the Undergraduate Admissions office performing duties to support a high response and service-oriented visit program for prospective students and guests. This position requires evening and weekend hours as needed to participate in visit programming activities.
Essential functions: The Admissions Visit Coordinator will assist with the following:
Provide support for campus visit activities and operations
Facilitate the recruitment and hiring process for tour guides for fall and spring semesters, spring break, summer, and as needed
Create, update and maintain a tour guide schedule that covers all tours including daily visits, open houses, group visits, and private tours
Coordinate tour guide training and development, including large training days, training documents and materials, training tours, workshops, and other training initiatives and activities
Support a large and diverse team of student employees and volunteers. This includes building rapport and being available to respond quickly to inquiries and issues
Monitor email and SMS inboxes and respond promptly to visit-related inquiries
Coordinate group visits, including maintaining communication with groups and welcoming groups to campus
Lead student employees and volunteers in creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors upon arrival to campus
Address accommodations requests as needed
Manage the front desk of the Admissions Center including providing coverage as needed
Use our CRM, Slate, to post visit opportunities, run visit-related edit queries and more
Help identify opportunities to enhance the visit experience
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
1-3 years of experience in undergraduate admissions or a related field
Outstanding interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Ability to speak with large and small groups and diverse populations
Ability and desire to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends
Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems quickly and independently
Experience working with students
Enthusiasm, flexibility, and patience are needed for our fast-paced, fun, and collaborative environment
Preferred:
Experience as a campus tour guide
Experience using a CRM
Knowledge and understanding of college recruitment and marketing
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
