Responsibilities
Ascension Lourdes is seeking a Physician Advisor to join the Team.
This is a great opportunity for a Physician to provides medical direction for care management, clinical documentation improvement, coding, quality and/or the compliance process, while representing the medical staff and the medical community standards of practice.
Position Highlights:
- Physician has the opportunity to bring to this new position his/her strengths and resources to share with the medical staff and create a balance of advocacy and support for patients, families, practitioners, and professional staff.
Position Responsibilities:
Reviews medical records of identified patients to assist with the level of care and length of stay determination.
Assists and manages the denial management process. Reviews and offers suggestions related to resources and service management.
Provides education to physicians and other clinicians on regulatory requirements, appropriate utilization of alternate levels of care, community resources and end of life care.
Develops strategy and processes to reduce denials and audits. Assists with appeals.
Utilizes hospital data sources to identify & analyze patterns of over or under-utilization of services, quality metrics and makes recommendations for achievement of designated goals.

Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Physician MD/DO designation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
Additional Preferences
Salary Range: $180k-$210k
Actual compensation offer will vary based upon role, education, experience, location and qualifications.
