McFarland Johnson Resident Engineer/CI in Binghamton, New York

Responsibilities:

•Perform independent construction inspection services, including acting as liaison between firm, owner and contractor, on transportation construction projects including Bridge, Highway and Airport projects in the Northern, Central and Southern Tier areas of NY during the 2020 Construction season.

•Duties include detailed inspection and monitoring of site construction for which engineering precedent exists, along with oversight of quality control testing programs for the same.


Requirements:

Resident Construction Engineers possessing NICET IV certification and a minimum of 5 years of NYSDOT and/or FAA construction experience preferred.

Construction Inspectors possessing NICET Level II and a minimum of 3 years of construction inspection experience preferred.

•Construction inspection experience commensurate with the scope of duties for both positions may be considered in lieu of NICET certifications.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

•Position requires full knowledge and adherence to QA standards, plans and specifications.

•Ability to maintain a daily job log with clear written communications.

•Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate construction activities with the project owner and construction Contractors, and other staff .

•Ability to manage contract payments to construction Contractors including change orders.

•Ability to represent MJ in a professional manner is a must.

•Previous knowledge/construction experience with NYSDOT and/or FAA construction specifications/methods a plus.
