ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Activities include but are not limited to the following:• Provide cleaning of all assigned areas and rooms to include: Trash Removal, vacuuming or mopping floors, dusting, sanitizing, windows and mirrors• Maintain supplies in each area or room as requested.• Remove Carpets, furniture and equipment as needed.• Seasonally adjust heat or air conditioning• Perform building check as per schedule (weekly/monthly) including windows, pipes, lights and appliances• Conduct building check at end of shift, set alarm, walk outside each working hour to check doors• Participate in activities that may include meetings, trainings and committees• Establish a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the Agency’s culture, values and mission.• Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE• High School Diploma• Initial TB test required prior to first day of employment• Knowledge of Cleaning procedures and supplies• This position does not have regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with individuals receiving services and is not required by law to be fingerprinted for a criminal history record check under OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) or OMH (Office of Mental Health).• SPECIAL EQUIPMENT/ TRAINING• The Cleaner requires an average amount of mental concentration to make appropriate decisions and perform cleaning functions in a safe and timely manner.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/HAZARDS • Job related tasks do not involve continuous exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, or spills or splashes from these substances, but exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. May have exposure to unpredictable individuals and situations when working at Upstate Cerebral Palsy sites.• OSHA Exposure Category II

PHYSICAL DEMANDS• The Cleaner is required to work with chemicals, lift and bend, stand for periods of time, and occasionally climb ladders. • Lifting requirement up to 90 pounds.
