JBay, LLC strives to provide extraordinary hospitality for members of its beach clubs in Breezy Point, NY and are looking for variable (seasonal) associates to join our talented teams for the upcoming 2024 Summer Season. This is a seasonal position and the anticipated first day of work is at the end June 2024 and the last day is estimated to be in August 2024. Day Camp CounselorResponsibilitiesProperly monitor campers at all times in a safe and efficient mannerActively participate in all programs areas as assignedBe a role model to campers in your attitude and behavior by maintaining a positive and upbeat mannerSet a good example to campers and others in regarding to general camp procedures and practices, including sanitation, schedules, and sportsmanshipRepresent the camp in a positive and professional manner when interacting with parents or othersAdhere to company’s policy reporting tipsProvide timely, courteous, and professional service to all guestsFollow all health and safety standards, security guidelines, policies, and initiativesAll other duties as may be assignedRequirementsAbility to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner, including understanding of the development needs of youthVisual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activityPhysical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance to maintain constant supervision of campers.Must be able to work the entire season (8 weeks), without any vacation.Must report ALL tips via timeclock as per company policyFirst Aid CertificateMust be a minimum of 16 years of ageEducation & ExperienceEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent (we accept high school juniors and seniors)Experience: Previous youth camp experience (including as a participant) Resort / National Park experienceHourly rate of pay $13.35 plus tips (all tips are required to be reported per IRS regulations)All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
