The Athletics Department at The College at Brockport, State University of New York is comprised of 23 sports and is accepting applications for the Assistant to the Director of Athletics Internship. This is a two-year internship funded primarily through the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minorities and Women’s Internship Grant program. The position offers the candidate the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of collegiate athletic administration with a focus on events and operations.
The Assistant to the Director is responsible for assisting the overall management of the Athletic Department operations including the administration of athletic home events and facility usage. This position will collaborate closely with Facilities, Maintenance, Recreation, and the Department of Kinesiology, Sport Science, and Physical Education.
Assist with the oversight of Athletic Department operations including administrative support, home event and facility supervision.
Assist the Director of Athletics with special projects and planning, including logistics for large-scale events such as post-season championships, alumni engagement events, and facility revitalization projects.
Assist with oversight and coordination of event management for intercollegiate events and external groups.
Supervise, train and schedule staff assigned to work as home event managers, evening building supervisors, and equipment managers for the athletic facilities and operations.
Assist with scheduling of all athletic facilities through EMS system.
Assist with maintenance and implementation of Policies and Procedures Manual and the Emergency Action Plan for the department.
Serve as a liaison to visiting teams, officials, and community organizations utilizing Athletic Department facilities.
Schedule, contract, bill, and site supervision of external users.
Serve as liaison with various campus departments including Campus Recreation, Facilities Management, University Police, and Parking Services.
Bachelor’s Degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university; minimum of two years experience working in collegiate athletics department; and, demonstrated excellent organizational and communication skills.
Master’s degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university and the desire to work in college athletics as an administrator.
The Department of Athletics is an NCAA Division III program and a member of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC), Empire 8, NCGA and ECAC Conferences. The Athletic Department promotes the mission, reputation and identity of The College at Brockport. It consists of 100 professional staff members and volunteers that serve 600+ student-athletes in various roles.

Salary and Benefits
Salary for this grant funded position is $23,660 annually for 10 months plus on campus housing and tuition benefits.
