Planned Parenthood of Greater New York Clinical Social Worker- Project Street Beat in Bronx, New York

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides supportive counseling, crisis intervention, referral and other social services to clients and clinical supervision to non-clinical staff of the health centers and Project Street Beat (PSB) as an integral component of the clinical operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Client Care (60%)

· Interviews individual clients, taking a complete social and medical history, discussing specific procedures, sexual health, birth control methods, and obtains legal consents.

· Provides individual mental health, substance use, linkages to supportive services and education to clients.

· Facilitates case conferences as required.

· Consults with counselors and/or supervisory staff on client situations.

· Counsels individuals directly, providing short-term crisis intervention and supportive counseling with individuals requiring social services as defined by administrative policy and procedure on social work referrals, and provides appropriate referrals following center protocol procedures.

Clinical Supervision (20%)

· Provide clinical supervision to non-clinical staff through individual and group modalities

· Provide psychoeducation on best practice interventions and evidence-based treatment modalities as well as ensuring that assigned supervisees are providing services that are sensitive to culture, age, gender, class, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and other personal identification factors.

· Identifies training needs and makes recommendations to the program manager.

Administrative (10%)

· Conducts and/or participates in meetings to discuss new and revised procedures for management of clients.

· Communicates directly with the Program Managers on all professional matters as appropriate

· Participates in agency training technical assistant program activities, and special projects as assigned.

· Working with Program Managers, conducts Social Service-related audits and observations of staff.

· Documents client services in the appropriate electronic health record; documents staff clinical supervision.

· Assist with program development and CQI activities.

Other (10%)

· Represents PPGNY through such activities as speaking engagements before professional and other groups to explain and further the agency’s goals.

· Works flexibly and cooperatively under supervision and with all members of center staff to maintain overall good of the center.

· Accept individual and joint responsibility for and participation meeting established goals for productivity.

· Accepts individual and joint responsibility for and participates in achieving established revenue cycle goals.

· Accepts individual and joint responsibility for and participates in efforts to comply with all organizational and quality assurance guidelines, and all applicable government regulations.

· Accepts individual and joint responsibility for and participates in overall efforts to achieve all goals set to improve customer relations, increase customer satisfaction and promote repeat customer visits.

· Understands and commits to modeling excellent customer service in all aspects of health care delivery. Accepts individual and joint responsibility for and participates in overall health center efforts to achieve goals and policies on professionalism, wait time in the center/on the phone, and the system for addressing client complaints.

· Meets Clinical Services Standards of Behavior.

· Understands and commits to customer-oriented approach to service delivery.

· Completes all responsibilities according to established protocols, policies and standard practices in the areas of ADA and regulatory compliance programs such as HIPAA.

· Works effectively with volunteers, trainees and temp agency personnel.

· Performs other educational and experience related duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master of Social Work

  • 2 years' work in related role/field

  • Valid New York licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual

SCHEDULE

  • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm

  • 4 days onsite, 1 day remote
