THE ROLE

The Director of Finance will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all accounting/finance functions at Yankee Stadium in accordance with current Federal/State regulations and generally accepted accounting principles. Further, this position will provide financial management and analysis; overseeing, monitoring and analyzing capital and operating budgets, including monthly financial analyses, monthly forecasting, annual planning, cash forecasting, and ad hoc business analyses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work directly with the VP of Operations, Regional Director of Finance, and Corporate Controller to develop plans that drive Legends’ initiatives and business performance.

  • Analytical skills and ability to solve problems creatively.

  • Assist and counsel operational divisions in the interpretation of financial data and recommend courses of action to maximize profitability and ensure effective internal controls and procedures.

  • Closely collaborate and liaise with Yankee leadership.

  • Manage all aspects of the day-to-day accounting processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger.

  • Support the business planning process ensuring tie in with strategic directives and the annual budgets.

  • Responsible for managing the Finance/Payroll and Information Technology divisions.

  • Daily reconciliation of cash and credit card transactions.

  • Prepare a flash revenue report after every event day.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial forecasts for comparison to budget.

  • Oversee the inventory process and perform in-depth cost of goods analysis.

  • Coordinate preparation of monthly financial statement.

  • Ensure a timely and accurate month-end closing process.

  • Analyze monthly balance sheet and P&L figures to prepare comments and identify performance trends.

  • Coordinate preparation of annual budget for review by internal and external parties.

  • Build solid working relationships with business and department leaders.

  • Support of all teams in the analysis and evaluation of various business opportunities to ensure we are driving profitability.

  • Provide strategic planning and business management support.

  • Oversight and management of Capital plans and projects.

  • Facilitates the understanding of financial results and underlying trends and advises executive management of various financial and accounting issues.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years in Financial, Accounting leadership role; preferably in the hospitality industry.

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office software required.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills and attention to detail essential.

  • Demonstrated financial knowledge and strategic planning experience

  • Must be highly analytical, have the ability to think creatively, and to understand complex business dynamics.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.

  • Knowledge of NCR Quest and Counterpoint point of sale systems a plus.

  • Must be flexible to travel and work extended hours due to business requirements including nights, weekends and holidays.
