Brilla Public Charter Schools is a network of K-8th grade schools that currently serves nearly 1,800 students from Mott Haven, University Heights, and other neighborhoods in the Bronx. The network is growing from its current four elementary and two middle schools to five elementary and five middle schools educating some 4,000 students in the Bronx and Paterson, NJ. Core to our mission is that our students become young men and women of good character and spirit and be prepared for excellence in high school, college, and beyond. Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Enrollment & Outreach Recruiter is to assist new families in applying to our schools in order to meet student application and enrollment targets. The Enrollment team members assist families in enrolling by helping them find their right Brilla school, answering questions, supporting them in completing an application, and ensuring that families enjoy a great first experience. Additionally, the Enrollment & Outreach Recruiter will cultivate strong and positive relationships with CBO partners, daycare providers, businesses, and the community we serve. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and expediently on project-based initiatives. Candidates will have the drive and energy to thrive in a results-focused, no excuses, entrepreneurial environment. The Enrollment & Outreach Recruiter will report to the Director of Enrollment and collaborate with the Enrollment team and dedicated community partners - who together are making a positive impact on the educational opportunities for underserved children.
Core Competencies & Responsibilities
Work closely with the Director of Enrollment and Enrollment Manager to design and execute purposeful and effective engagement and outreach plans in order to meet or exceed application goals
Perform outreach duties to increase community awareness of the Schools and their programs within the area of service
Assist in leading engaging and informative school tours, open houses, information sessions, and events that maximize applicant enthusiasm
Attend all recruitment fairs and community events; prepare materials as needed
Create, update, and deliver informative and captivating presentations to prospective families
Communicate a compelling message regarding our culture and school design
Develop and maintain communication and technology resources, such as brochures, flyers, posters, and technology strategies including, but not limited to texting, email, Facebook, and Instagram
Facilitate new student enrollment by working with students and families to obtain a variety of information and records
Maintain accurate data for record-keeping in multiple software systems to develop a data-driven approach to recruitment efforts
Communicate professionally via verbal and written communications
Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards families at all times
Design, implement, and monitor the student recruitment plan, including student recruitment targets, student recruitment objectives, tactics, and strategies
Develop strategic community partnerships within Community School Districts 7 and 10 to build mission-driven awareness
Actively engage families during the summer months, per plans created in coordination with the Enrollment Team, Operation Teams, and Principals
Provide training, supervision, and work direction to hourly employees as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
2+ years of working experience in a customer service or admissions field
Fluency in Spanish Required
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organize and prioritize work
Strong attention to detail
Experience with admissions software or database is highly desirable
The base pay range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 per year in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered. Pay may vary within the stated range, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
