May also be required to complete duties related to window washing, meeting set-up, pool cleaning, snow removal, groundskeeping, and other related responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:-Ensure the Castle Hill YMCA is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. -May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning.-Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.-Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed.-Ensures the Castle Hill YMCA building, and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.-Replaces soap, paper towels and other supplies.-May set up furniture and/or rooms for events.-Strip and wax floors, also shampoo rugs as needed.-Follow standards of DOH, DOB, FDNY, HPD, and ECB Departments.-Follow YMCA Housekeeping Policies and Procedures.Desired Skills & Experience:-High School diploma or equivalent.-One (1) to three (3) years of related experience and increased area of responsibility.-Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, along with basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.-Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe and efficient use.-Obtain YMCA Housekeeping Certificate within 1 year of attaining position.Benefits:The YMCA of Greater New York offers a variety of benefits to its staff members, including retirement benefits, medical, paid time off, free YMCA membership, and more!
