POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under general supervision of the Employee Health Nurse responsible for assistance in the overall management of the employee health screening process. Pays:$18.00 per hour
KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· In absence of Employee Health Nurse conducts pre-employment health assessment, toxicology screening and immunization verification for new employees.
· Must take and record vital signs for all patients as directed by the Medical Director.
· Assist in the education pre-employment candidates and employees on health issues and maintenance regarding immunizations and seasonal vaccines.
· Records laboratory results for all pre-employment drug screens and notifies Employee Health Nurse of positive results.
· Performs veni-puncture to obtain blood for laboratory specimens.
· Maintains proper infection control procedures and maintains privacy while performing health screens. In addition, must ensure the lab and clinic is clean and clear of clutter.
· Assist in the management of the annual Employee Health Assessment and Medical Screening process which includes a QuantiFERON
· Follows up with pre-employment candidates' immunization status.
· Ensures that required employees maintain up-to-date vaccinations per regulations.
· Ensures appropriate medical inventory levels by ordering and stocking supplies, medications and vaccines as necessary.
· Assist in reconciliation of all billing for employee health processes (labs, urine toxicology, supplies, immunizations, CXR, application of company codes etc.)
· Assist in the completion of data entry of all employee health information into HRIS.
· Maintains accurate files and records of all employees.
· Prepares files for review by auditors as needed.
· Processes all health record requests for employees.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Associates Degree required (Nursing, Applied Science or other related field).
Medical Assistant Certification required. National certification preferred
· Three (3) years clinical experience.
· 2-5 years previous experience in a phlebotomy.
· Strong office organizational skills.
· Ability to multi-task clinically and administratively.
· Highly organized, motivated self-starter. Excellent time management skills.
Ability to organize and maintain detailed records; complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines
