The Program Intern will support and assist staff in carrying out all planned educational and enrichment activities for after school enrichment and recreational program.
Reports to: Program Director
Location: 2205 Lorillard Place, Bronx, New York 10458
Hours: 25 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt (Summer Camp)
Major Duties:
Assist the group leader with activities, including sports and recreation, educational, arts and craft and special events.
Collect attendance folder and other data.
Distribute lunches and snacks and assist in the cleanup of the rooms.
Assist with monitoring and maintaining the rules of the program.
Collaborate with staff to ensure a safe and engaging classroom environment.
Assist with the supervision of participants on trips.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be currently attending High School or High School graduate.
Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits, and ability to work with other youths.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability and willingness to work in a dynamic team environment are necessary.
Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
