***VETERANS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY*** JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Employer Support Specialist is responsible for assisting and maintaining developed partnerships, meet with job seekers, conduct career readiness workshops, as directed. A successful candidate will have a passion supporting individuals and families as they establish self-sufficiency. A strong work ethic, superior organizational skills, time management skills, and a team-oriented approach are essential. The ideal candidate will develop employment and internship opportunities across contracts and sites. These contracts will include, but not limited to Career Network Healthcare, Opportunity Youth, Work, Learn and Grow, Summer Youth Employment Program, etc. RESPONSIBITIES: -Conduct comprehensive assessments in order to provide employment counseling -Maintain an active employment data bank and serves as program representative to employers. -Provide career coaching and assists with resume/cover letter preparation, job search and completing employment applications. -Develop strong working relationships with employers in order to assist candidates secure and maintain viable and long-lasting employment opportunities. -Assist candidates in developing professional skills and work habits that will result in long- term employment or career advancement opportunities. -Facilitate career development skills workshops for individuals on Employment Track, when necessary. -Contribute to the design of and facilitate career readiness, professional development -Collect, enter and maintain progress notes, and outcomes data as related to program goals and contractual obligations via Salesforce. -Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure candidates career needs, interests, and goals. -Demonstrate an understanding of and practice the principals of positive youth and adult development. -Provide feedback to other Phipps program teams regarding candidates placement experiences, challenges, and successes, to informed and develop holistic support -Participate in relevant departmental, agency, and external agency meetings, trainings, workshops and events. -Handle any appropriate additional responsibilities and functions as assigned by Supervisor and/or Director. QUALIFICATIONS: -High School Diploma with 3-5 years of experience in Workforce Development -English-Spanish Bilingual, preferred. -Some experience in facilitating -Knowledge of NYC Labor Market, preferred -Computer literate and skilled in using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, Google applications, and related programs. -Ability to learn Salesforce database and any other databases and software. -Excellent interpersonal communication and networking skills. -Strong commitment to youth and families in low-income neighborhoods assisting with opportunities to thrive through workforce and access to community and economic empowerment services.
