About the position
We are looking for a creative and strategic leader to plan and implement scientific products as they relate to pathology. This person will serve as the Lab Director and help translate scientific discoveries an into marketable reality.
Keep the CEO informed of all major aspects of pathology and IHC
Oversee the management and responsibilities of all consulting pathologists
Coordinate with histology personnel to ensure the adequacy and integrity of all histology and pathology studies
Hold primary responsibility in overseeing all immunohistochemistry studies and assay development/troubleshooting
Sign off on QC/QA work
Review or assign other pathologists as necessary to review all GLP pathology reports, prior to finalization and signatures
Coordinate with the Quality Assurance Unit to ensure GLP compliance
Communicate the company’s scientific product offerings and capabilities to the scientific community and customers
MD or DVM degree from the United States
5+ years of experience in the biotech/pharma industry or an academic research setting
In depth knowledge of tissue-based assays and troubleshooting (e.g. IHC, ISH, IF)
Previous management experience
Highly desired additional experience
Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field
Experience with GLP/GCP
Translational pathology research on target validation, investigative toxicology, or immuno-oncology
Experience with drug development and companion diagnostics
