The Director of Digital and Catalog Merchandising is a critical leader in shaping the customer experience in our digital and catalog marketing channels. They will align with the vision that the Chief Merchandising Officer sets for the company and execute their strategies in collaboration with key partners in Buying, Marketing, Creative, Planning, and Product Management. The Director is a visionary who understands how customers shop and is constantly digging into the relevant digital and catalog data to improve conversion and revenue results. Success in this role is defined by positively impacting the customer’s perception of the brand and the achievement of revenue goals.

Reports To:The Chief Merchandising Manager


  • Lead and manage the entire Site Merchandising process including the home page and all landing pages.

  • Execute quarterly/monthly/weekly briefs for all key digital marketing channels (email, homepage, landing pages, and gift guides).

  • Drive revenue thought daily website merchandising, product selection for all emails, and supporting marketing traffic divers such as SEO with landing pages.

  • Elevate the consumer journey by continuously optimizing online navigation, landing pages, and search results based on web analytics data.

  • Provide recommendations to Product Management for future site enhancements by blueprinting the ideal consumer journey and providing data to support the business case.

  • Lead and drive the entire Catalog process four times per year in collaboration with key partners in Buying, Creative, Marketing and Planning.

  • Own the execution of the New Item Pipeline (1700+ new products per year) in partnership with Creative and ensure the weekly target of new items are launched successfully.

  • Deliver weekly/monthly/quarterly Site Merchandising, New Item, and Catalog results to goal performance reporting to the Leadership Team.


  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. A business or marketing degree is preferred.

  • Passion for the Uncommon Goods brand.

  • Proven experience working in Ecommerce management, with a close focus on content, site merchandising, and site optimization.

  • Relevant Site Merchandising experience, including launching new products, building seasonal shops, managing attribution/filters, on-site search, features/functions optimizations, and aligning landing pages to content.

  • Experience successfully mentoring and developing a small team.

  • Empathetic collaborator with excellent analytic and communication (verbal and written) skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction and successfully execute plans to drive business performance and category goals.

  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information, come to conclusions, and recommend actions.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and has attention to details.

  • In depth knowledge of Google Analytics and Microsoft Office programs.

This is currently a fully remote role. Fully vaccinated team members are welcome to work onsite, provided they follow the monthly resting schedule required for all onsite vaccinated team members. COVID safety protocols: Masks are required for all team members while working onsite; Vaccinated team members must be tested monthly; Unvaccinated team members must be tested weekly.
