Soho House & Co. Food Runner - Dumbo House (Seasonal) in Brooklyn, New York

This seasonal position will be responsible for assisting the servers in providing quality service to all guests who come to Soho House. Supporting the management team as needed.

Main Duties...

  • Maintain all steps in the Customer Service program with each guest and employee you may come in contact with

  • Performs opening and closing procedures including but not limited to the set up and break down of stations

  • Bring food quickly from the kitchen to its respective location in the restaurants and deliver to guests

  • Respectfully entertain guests or members while following our Soho House Ethos

  • Maintain a spotless, pristine work environment

  • Provides service to and is accountable for an assigned station

  • Ensure that all guests using the hotel facilities are completely satisfied and believe that they have received a tremendous value

  • Develops relationships with guests in order to provide personalized service

  • Resolve guest complaints, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible. Responds to guests’ requests in an accurate and timely manner, creating a positive outcome that will result in a memorable experience

  • Develop and maintain complete knowledge of all food menu items

  • Performs all sequence of service duties in adherence to all company standards

  • Undertake regular internal inspections to ensure company’s assets are well maintained and protected

  • Takes action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction and wellbeing of employees, hotel guests and property. Responds swiftly and effectively in any hotel emergency of safety situations

  • Assure the proper handling of VIPs. Protect their privacy and confidentiality

  • Ensuring compliance to all hotel policies and procedures at all levels

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager

Requirements

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Basic verbal communication skills

  • Passion for food & beverage

  • Ability to work in a friendly relaxing demeanour with quick customer service

  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

  • Detail oriented

  • Basset & Food Handler Certified

  • Participate in teamwork and assist other departments when needed

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands

  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours

  • Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others

  • Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 40 pounds

  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required
