The Uncommon Goods Product Development team designs and develops unique and exclusive products. We are a team of friendly, hard-working, big thinking designers and production managers who have a strong entrepreneurial spirit. We have a directory of external designers and manufacturers who we collaborate with to create and manufacturer new products. Additionally, we create highly personalized gifts for our customers, offering them a unique shopping experience.

We are seeking an illustrator or graphic designer to join our team, focusing on generating new ideas, designing surface designs for original products, and collaborating with external designers on projects. Are you passionate about creating original and thoughtful products for our customers? The Graphic Designer reports to the Senior Industrial Designer.


  • Generate original product ideas that do not exist anywhere in the market.

  • Create product that solves a problem and has an emotional connection.

  • Design artwork, illustrations, graphics and surface patterns for products and packaging.

  • Complete detailed technical briefs for all developments.

  • Present new ideas to Director, Product Development team and Merchants.

  • Be a great partner to external designers and manage ongoing projects.

  • Communicate regularly with Production and Merchant teams.

  • Assist in management of Custom Art Team. Assist in coordination, hiring, and training of Seasonal Custom Art Team.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Illustration or similar field preferred, or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of industry experience within a related field

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office

  • Illustration and typography skills are required

  • Varied illustration portfolio demonstrating a variety of design styles.

  • Experience with 3D products and/or applying artwork to 3D products a plus

Due to Covid-19 social distancing requirements, this position will be a combination of remote and on-site. A reliable home internet connection and appropriate equipment are required. We are only accepting applicants from the Tri-State area
