Position Summary:
Hatch is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer in their Systems Assurance Practice with an interest in System Safety and Assurance who will support projects globally out of our Brooklyn office.
You will:
Be given opportunities to contribute to complex, safety critical rail projects around the world

Responsibilities:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out tasks for projects in the field of Systems Assurance and Safety which covers reliability, availability, maintainability and safety.
Coordination with specialists and engineers and related disciplines to produce integrated design deliverables
Assistance to senior assurance professionals and designers as and when needed
Contribute to overall needs for project completion
Education and Experience:
Must be working towards graduating in 2024, or recently graduated, with an Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited university.
In good academic standing
Interested in Systems Assurance, Safety Engineering and Quality
Extracurricular involvement is considered an asset
Knowledge or summer student experience in a consultancy environment undertaking infrastructure projects, will be an asset
Ability to work in a team environment with multidisciplinary interaction
Attributes of a young professional

Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects
Strong aptitude and interest in safety and quality as related to engineering or the delivery of engineered systems

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Perform assignments related to your sector.
Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects.
Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications
Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed.
